The IBSA Hong Kong have pleasure in inviting you to join us for a discussion on how transparency initiatives, such as the Common Reporting Standard, the Significant Controllers Register, the Legal Entity Identifier and the Base Erosion and Profit Shifting, affect you when dealing with Hong Kong and overseas clients.

Over the last few years, there’s been a steady increase in the amount of disclosure required by individuals and corporations, both domestically and in their international dealings as well as increased disclosure requirements by third parties.  How does this global trend affect your personal and corporate clients and what additional disclosures could be required? This talk will be of interest to anyone who advises corporations as well as high net worth personal clients.  Our expert speakers will cover the following issues:

  • James Parker of Norton Rose Fulbright will speak on the legal issues and practical compliance aspects that affect intermediaries and companies
  • John Timpany of KPMG will speak on the potential tax implications on how this added transparency affects tax planning and on possible implications when dealing with the IRD
  • Joe Cheung of Vistra will speak on the reporting and disclosure comparisons between Hong Kong, the BVI and the Cayman Islands as well as possible future disclosure requirements.

Networking drinks and canapes will follow the discussion, kindly provided by KPMG, our venue sponsor.  The attendees will also enjoy the opportunity to meet fellow members and their guests. This event is free to IBSA members and invited guests.

This event carries 1.5 hrs of CPD accreditation.
