Roy Saunders

Founder and Chairman, IBSA

Since qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in 1967, Roy Saunders has accumulated a wealth of commercial experience working independently in commercial property, international tax, advertising and other industries. He is the Chairman of IFS, a boutique international tax practice based in central London. Academically, he is known throughout the world for his many books and publications, the foremost being his red book, International Tax Systems & Planning Techniques published by Sweet & Maxwell. Roy has also taught an MA Course on International Taxation at the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies at the University of London.

Roy is very proud of the fascinating client base of entrepreneurial individuals that he has built up at IFS. He feels strongly about the role that ethical tax structuring plays in the growth of an economy, and that this needs to be better understood by the public at large. Roy founded the IBSA to enable business professionals around the world to discover new business relationships and promote best practice by creating sustainable business structures compliant with international transparency, corporate governance and social responsibility.

Vassilis Psyrras

Advocate Counsel

Vassilis has extensive experience in admiralty claims, ship and project finance, debt restructuring, yacht leasing, shipping operations and corporate and commercial matters. Prior to beginning his legal career, Vassilis worked in various commercial roles for Piraeus-based shipping companies that included seagoing experience as a cadet officer, giving him first-hand knowledge of how shipping companies and ships operate and of their commercial and operational requirements. He has also been in-house counsel in the legal department of a global ship operator based in Hamburg, Germany.

Theodora Alexandrou

Theodora specialises in corporate law, leveraging her legal expertise to assist clients with a range of corporate and tax matters. After joining our firm as a lawyer trainee, she is now a qualified associate in the corporate and tax department, where she advises private clients on tasks ranging from daily operations to complex financing and corporate governance issues.
 

Nicolas Bachmann

Nicolas is a Partner at 1291 Group Switzerland, holding a doctorate degree in Business Administration and Commerce from “Università Commerciale Luigi Bocconi” in Milan.  As a seasoned expert with over 25 years of in-depth expertise in private banking and insurance, Nicolas has been Sales Director and Country Manager of International Markets at a leading Luxembourg private insurance company, as well as Head of Distribution Italy and Branch Manager Lugano for over two decades, advising (U)HNWI clients and their families in multiple jurisdictions, throughout the financial hubs of Switzerland, Luxembourg, UK, and Monaco. 

He specializes in tailored insurance-based wealth- and estate planning solutions for complex family structures, working closely with clients and their trusted advisors by leveraging on his cross-market experience and FMA license to provide fully compliant, yet innovative wealth protection strategies that support privacy, asset protection, tax- and estate planning, which are perfectly suited for pre-relocation planning and international portability.
