The IBSA UK Branch has great pleasure in inviting you to join Fiona Cross of Simmons Gainsford, Will Hobbs of Barclays Wealth Management and Edward Stone of Womble Bond Dickinson for a discussion group meeting on how the UK could become a powerhouse for international business structuring, creating a tiger economy on the lines of Singapore, Hong Kong and similar international centres.
Boris Johnson has raised the need for the UK to build a fantastic infrastructure of transport, broadband and new technology concepts along with major investment into education and, of course, the NHS. It is clear that the UK will need to attract foreign investment to achieve these goals, which may require a major change in tax law as well as the non-adherence to many of the current regulatory restrictions affecting international trade. Our expert speakers will discuss the current range of incentives available, compared with many other major European countries, including R & D initiatives, intellectual property taxation, the UK’s participation exemption regime and investment tax credits. They will also consider the current and future benefits that can be enjoyed by entrepreneurs using the UK as their base of operation, and the economic opportunities and potential problems in achieving the goal of a tiger economy.
Networking drinks will follow the discussion and offers the opportunity to meet fellow members and their guests. This event is free to IBSA members and invited guests.
This event carries 1.5 hrs of CPD accreditation.
