The IBSA have great pleasure in inviting you to join Isabel Albarran of Close Brothers Asset Management, Nikolaos Korogiannakis of Jurispectrum and Malcolm Dowden of Womble Bond Dickinson, for a discussion group meeting to review the consequences of either a post-Brexit UK, or what continuing uncertainty will mean for international business structuring.
Isabel will address the investment and economic effects of continuity within a customs union (whether within the EU political union or outside it) or a further long extension to a Brexit compromise, Nikos will examine the legal issues that still need to be resolved from the EU's and UK’s perspectives, and Malcolm will consider the practical impact of various potential Brexit outcomes from "no deal" to full regulatory alignment and customs union, as well as exploring the potential for "virtual" free ports or free zones based on blockchain/distributed ledger technologies and "smart" contracts.
Networking drinks will follow the discussion and offers the opportunity to meet fellow members and their guests. This event is free to IBSA members and invited guests.
This event carries 1.5 hrs of CPD accreditation.
