We hope you have had an excellent summer break and are now feeling refreshed for the busy Autumn period.
We have a packed Autumn schedule, with no fewer than 12 events taking place around the world in the remainder of 2015. Highlights include our Annual Conference on 19 November in London, tickets for which are now available here at the usual member and non-member rates, and our first Annual Members’ Dinner which takes place the night before the conference on 18 November. We do hope you are able to join us at these events – IBSA Members from across the globe will be in attendance with both events providing a great opportunity to forge new business relationships and greet old friends.
We also have a busy series of Branch events coming up, the full listings for which can be found on the IBSA website. This article reflects on the tax advisor’s role in the current environment of penalising what has hitherto been considered acceptable tax planning. It also highlights the demise of bank secrecy and the new role of banks as unpaid detectives for tax administrations. The article is not intended to support nefarious tax advice of yesteryear, but to explain the consequences of maintaining a non-transparent policy towards tax administrations as to where an individual is resident.

Along with immigration procedures if required, buying a home is often the next step for those looking to relocate to the UK.
